Great Art
One-person exhibition at The International 3, Manchester 2002. The inspiration for the exhibition was the product catalogue by the company Great Art. The works were sculptural assemblages of found objects bought from the catalogue and used in unconventional ways to reference other canons of art practice and history. They included “Cross Section of Art History” (2002) books, stickers, box of charcoal; “Decorative Boarders” (2001/02) occasional easel, pre-prepared canvas, transfer lettering, and pencil; “Studded Canvas” (2001) pre-prepared canvas and googly eyes; “Wall Flowers - After Van Gogh” (2002) pre-prepared canvases, mirror plates, screws, stickers and googly eyes.
Thanks to Martin Vincent, Anthony Key, Padraig Timoney, and Graham Parker (witness to the handshake).
