Life Class: Rufford Old Hall, Ormskirk (2008)
Life class workshop performance on 28th June 2008 with participants from Lancashire Artists Network and MAP
Exploring the site, Rufford Old Hall, Ormskirk and the story of a young William Shakespeare having once performed in the Great Hall. The model’s pose is based on a miniature by Nicolas Hilliard titled "Portrait of an Unknown Man Clasping a Hand from a Cloud" 1588, also once attributed to a young William Shakespeare. I re-enacted the making of Shakespeare's speculative image and performance to question the construction of these myths.
